Michael Jackson Death Anniversary: Four Years Later -

Today, the 25th of June, is Michael Jackson's death anniversary.

The King of Pop died four years ago at the age of 50 from cardiac arrest, for which Dr. Conrad Murray was eventually found guilty of involuntary manslaughter.

Michael may be gone, but four years later, his legacy lives on.

While his demise introduced a new generation of fans and reinvigorated his loyal followers to his musical greatness, he has not rested entirely in peace.

The personal problems and eccentricities that dominated news when he was alive have continued to do so in the aftermath of his tragic passing.

Jackson’s children, Prince, Blanket and Paris Jackson, who he worked so hard to ensure would be normal and well-adjusted, have had a tough time.

Her recent suicide attempt was the sad culmination of a difficult adjustment period - and identify crisis - for the kids following the death of their father.

Last year saw a custody battle in which Katherine Jackson briefly disappeared and several of Michael's siblings staged a mutiny against his estate.

This spring saw Wade Robson, who was close to Michael as a child, come forward with new allegations of child molestation, reopening old wounds.

Whatever you think of Michael Jackson, it cannot be disputed that his talent and cultural impact - and the bizarre saga that is his personal life - are unmatched.

Jackson rose to fame in 1964 as the youngest member of his family's Motown group, the Jackson 5, and went on to dominate the music industry.

With albums such as Off the Wall, Thriller, Bad and Dangerous, he sold hundreds of millions of records and left an indelible mark on our culture.

Yet for every person whose life he impacted in a positive way through his incredible abilities seems to come a story replete with sadness and despair.

We wish his family the best, come what may, and hope that his legacy is honored in a way befitting of a musical icon, while his kids grow up happy.
