'Man Of Steel' Sequel: Zack Snyder Talks Next Steps

"We almost destroyed the world last time," director Zack Snyder says. "Now what!?"
That's one of the many plot threads the "Man of Steel" filmmaker plans to focus on in the inevitable sequel, according to an interview with Moviehole. However, Snyder confessed that he hasn't yet met with Warner Bros. about where to take the Superman franchise next because he's been promoting the film overseas.
"So my hope is, when I get home I can sit down with everyone and it'll be like 'Okay, so what are we going to do?'" he says.
One of the things that's clear about "Man of Steel" and its role in things going forward is that it's the starting point of a greater DC Universe on film. Wayne Enterprises and even S.T.A.R. Labs got shout-outs in "Man of Steel," further fueling the buzz that "Man of Steel" is just the first shot as WB prepares for an eventual "Justice League" movie.
"I really wanted to expand the DC Universe," says Snyder, "and I really wanted to make sure, in Superman's world, that all that is a possibility."
Which is why even though Lex Luthor and Kryptonite aren't featured in "Man of Steel," those two very much still exist in the "Man of Steel" universe. "By no means am I saying those things don't exist," says Snyder. "I'm just saying he didn't run into them here."
